The Listening test has 6 parts and takes 47-55 minutes.

Part Breakdown

Part 1: Listening to Problem Solving (8 questions)

  • Context: Conversation about solving a problem
  • Length: ~3-4 minutes
  • Tip: Focus on the solution being discussed

Part 2: Daily Life Conversation (5 questions)

  • Context: Casual conversation between friends/colleagues
  • Length: ~2-3 minutes
  • Tip: Listen for opinions and attitudes

Part 3: Listening for Information (6 questions)

  • Context: Informational content (announcements, instructions)
  • Length: ~2-3 minutes
  • Tip: Take notes on specific details

Part 4: Listening to a News Item (5 questions)

  • Context: News report or broadcast
  • Length: ~2 minutes
  • Tip: Focus on who, what, when, where, why

Part 5: Listening to a Discussion (8 questions)

  • Context: Group discussion or meeting
  • Length: ~4-5 minutes
  • Tip: Track different speakers' viewpoints

Part 6: Listening to Viewpoints (6 questions)

  • Context: Multiple speakers sharing opinions
  • Length: ~4-5 minutes
  • Tip: Identify each speaker's position

Your listening is scored on: - Comprehension of main ideas - Understanding of specific details - Ability to make inferences - Understanding of speaker purpose and tone
